Male pattern baldness can occur at a young age and attempting hair transplants can be severely damaging to one’s health and confidence.
Many young men going bald who attempt hair loss surgery are disappointed with the results and have to receive additional care later on down the road. Dr. Abraham Armani, a hair transplant surgeon, stated that “about 20 to 30 percent of my hair transplant surgeries are on people for corrective purposes or people having secondary or tertiary procedures.”
In order for the surgery to be more successful, a male should wait until they’re done losing hair. This is because the process involves removing the strongest hair from the back of the head to the front, and if someone isn’t done balding, they will be stuck with a patch of hair on the front of their scalp, and nothing in the back.
Getting a hair transplant, no matter what the age, can be risky and result in many problems. Here are a few reasons why a transplant can go badly.
- The first is that the doctor may not handle your grafts properly. Although this is normally not the case, it is important to do extensive research on doctors who perform this surgery.
- Second, the graphs can be placed improperly on your head. This also highlights the importance of choosing the right doctor.
- The third and most important aspect is knowing if you’re the proper candidate for a hair transplant. If you begin to go through consultations with your doctor and it doesn’t seem to be working, don’t force it. Shaving your head is going to look a lot better than a patch of hair that doesn’t fit your scalp correctly.
Now I’m not saying that all hair transplants are bad. In fact, they can work really well for some people. However, it is important to understand the risks.
