When you first decide to take the plunge and shave your head, it can seem like an intimidating and daunting task. Getting over the mental barrier is tough, but the physical process of shaving your head doesn’t have to be. We have another article where we go in-depth on how to shave your head for the first time and we give some tips to go along with the process. Now, we also made a handy infographic that can be helpful for when you first decide to shave it all off and even after, if you want to keep the look.
It’s important that you have the right products and do it the right way because the skin at the top of your head is more sensitive than that on your face. Make sure you have the right clippers, razor, shaving cream, after shave, and oils that fit your needs and your skin type. You can see some of our favorites and our recommendations in the “Reviews” tab at the top of the page and throughout our other articles on the blog.
If you know you want to keep the bald look (which we also recommend!), then you can visit your barber and get it done professionally for the first time. This way, you know it’s getting done the right way from the start and you save yourself from having to purchase the nice clippers you need to trim your hair down to appropriate shaving length.
Another pro-tip: If you’re shaving your head for the first time, first buzz your hair down to shaving length, then try to go outside and tan your head for a little while you still have some hair to offset the lack of sun exposure. After that, go back and completely shave your head. Most guys complain about how pale their head looks the first time they shave and then end up disliking the look. This way, you can be sure that you’ll look great through each step of the process!
Once you have a good razor (we recommend the Mach-3 or Fusion) and some quality shaving cream to soften your hair and scalp, get to shaving and see how great you look once you’re done! Make sure to use some aftershave oils and moisturizers after you’ve finished to smooth and soothe your newly shaven scalp.
With this infographic, our previous articles, and our product reviews, you should be all set to shave your head and rock a new, attractive look!
